Gwendolyn is a seasoned waste management professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Her journey began at a transfer station, where witnessing the large-scale process of handling a city’s weekly garbage sparked a lifelong passion for waste management and environmental responsibility.

In the early 1990s, she gained hands-on experience working for a garbage company, where she was responsible for maintaining the surrounding neighborhood by cleaning streets. She later transitioned into sorting recycling from residential and commercial sources, developing a deep understanding of waste conservation. Over the years, Gwendolyn has personally sorted an estimated two tons of trash, compost, and recyclables, reinforcing her commitment to sustainable practices.

Her introduction to “greening” came through her role as an event supervisor, where she led teams responsible for waste collection and sorting at citywide events. Through this work, she demonstrated the effectiveness of waste diversion strategies—not only reducing landfill impact but also providing cost-saving benefits for event organizers. Her leadership helped highlight the importance of hiring trained professionals to implement environmentally conscious solutions.

Throughout her career, Gwendolyn has been exposed to a wide range of cultural, social, and political events, broadening her perspective and strengthening her commitment to community and environmental stewardship. She has cultivated a team that reflects these values—diverse, skilled, and united by a shared dedication to sustainability.

Today, Gwendolyn is embarking on a new chapter with the launch of her own greening event business, G-KNOZE WASTE. Passionate about creating immediate, tangible environmental impact, she remains committed to raising awareness about waste management and driving meaningful change for a more sustainable future.
